Experience the Finnish sauna tradition in a truly unique setting – on top of the frozen Arctic sea! Just off the coast of Oulu, authentic wood-heated sauna tents are set up on the ice. You can wash yourself with clean natural water and enjoy the soothing warmth surrounded by the beauty of the frozen seascape. For the full Nordic experience, take a refreshing swim in the ice hole after your sauna session!
Season: December 22 – March 31
Next to the sauna, a safe ice swimming spot has been opened in shallow water, where the clear sandy bottom ensures a refreshing and secure dip. Of course, no one is required to go swimming — but if you wish, you’ll get to see the ice hole and hear about the Finnish tradition of ice swimming.
A separate heated changing tent is also available, providing a warm and private space to change clothes before and after the sauna.
This experience combines arctic nature, traditional Finnish sauna culture, and the calming silence of the frozen sea – all just minutes from the city, yet a world away from everyday life.
