Experience the wintery Pilpasuo swamp area located in Oulu. Feel the time coming to a standstill while gliding on snowshoes atop the deep snow.

The safari experience begins at the Nallikari Holiday Village reception. Initially, participants have the opportunity to change into winter clothing, after which your group will be transported by car to Pilpasuo, which is approximately a 30-minute drive from Nallikari.

On location, snowshoes and poles will be provided and participants will be familiarized with the use of the equipment. The safari to the beautiful Pilpasuo swamp then begins, taking your group through a snow-covered forest.

While crossing the swamp, you will get to experience some of the most stunning winter scenery in the Oulu region. At Pilpasuo, it feels like time has stood still, as the area has developed on an ancient 3000-year-old sea shore meadow.

During the safari, you'll learn about the history of Pilpasuo and its biodiversity as explained by your guide. The safari includes a break at a campfire with hot beverages.

  • Price includes: Transportation from Nallikari to Pilpasuo and back, guidance, sliding snowshoes + poles, winter clothing (overalls, boots, hat, and gloves), hot beverages at a campfire
