Experience the magical winter nature of Northern Finland while hunting Northern lights in Oulu.
This is a private experience exclusively for your group – no other participants will join. The experience is available for groups of at least 6 people. You can book it directly through our website at least 30 days in advance. Enjoy the beautiful winter nature of Northern Finland while on our Aurora Hunting safari in Oulu. With a bit of luck, the highlight of the tour is a dance of Auroras across a starry Northern sky.
The Aurora Hunting safari begins with transportation from your accommodation in Oulu at 8 PM. After pick-up, we will stop at our Nallikari Experience Center, where participants have the opportunity to change into thermal clothing (only during the winter season). The experience then continues with transportation to the Northern Lights viewing location in a comfortable bus or minibus.
Please note that the effort of finding the location best suited for the conditions may require spending a couple of hours in vehicles during the evening.
While your group is being transported, you’ll have the chance to meet our guides, who will share insights about Finland’s winter nature and the Northern Lights. At the viewing locations, we will make a campfire and enjoy hot drinks and snacks by the fire.
While we strive to provide the best experience possible, it is important to realize that Northern Lights sightings can never be guaranteed. If the weather forecast indicates cloudy or snowy conditions that make sightings impossible, we offer two alternative solutions:
We will organize a snowshoeing safari or a nighttime nature walk in the enchanting dark autumn or winter forest of Oulu. We'll also set up a campfire for frying sausages and brewing pot coffee over the open flames. Enjoy the magical forest scenery in the glow of headlamps and gather around the fire as we share stories about the northern winter nature and the mesmerizing aurora borealis.
The safari is cancelled with a 75 % refund of the service price.
Please note: Changing a date of a safari is usually impossible on short notice and for this reason the service price does not include an option for changes one week prior to the service.

Price includes: Guidance (trained Aurora guides), car or bus transportation, thermal clothing (overalls, gloves, beanie and boots), an open fire in nature, snacks, and hot beverages, snowshoes and poles (if needed)
